Career Plan
About 98% of writers in France, today, have another job to live by.
According to the DGMIC
(Directorate General for Media and Cultural Industries)
Based on this observation, I had finally come to believe that becoming a writer, publishing my books, and being known for it, was just an illusion. But, now I realise that there is not only one way to succeed and become a writer. So, today, I need to start thinking about a real action plan for my future. If becoming a writer is still a dream I can’t ignore, I have to figure out how this whole world works and find a way to fit into it.
I have always considered writing as a medium that allows me to say and express everything. Writing allows me to understand what I can feel deep down inside. When I was younger, my timidity kept me from expressing myself, from sharing my thoughts, my ideas, and, most of all, it kept me from being able to talk when something didn’t please me, didn’t suit me or made me feel uncomfortable... When I started writing, I immediately felt a sense of relief within me. As if this weight, which was there all along, was slowly disappearing. Today, if I keep on writing, it is because writing allows me to feel, each time, this sense of release and peace. The words fly away when the writings remain. Each story is a way for me to fly away. To escape, for a while, from this reality I know to feel this feeling of plenitude that we feel when we let ourselves float on the surface of the water. A feeling of lightness that also leads us to reflect on many essential thoughts. Writing gives us a chance to meditate, to relax, and to be immersed in each idea we choose to explore. When I think about that I keep telling myself: if my writings allow me to feel all these sensations, maybe they will allow other people to feel these same sensations…
“If this story makes sense to you, if the sentences you write sound right, if you take pleasure in writing it, then keep going and you will realise that others will certainly appreciate it for what it is…”

Building and developing my audience
Goal: Making my blog a place where I can share positive, inspirational, and motivational thoughts to help people live their lives, every day, with a smile on their face.
Actions: being present on social media, with both regularity and organisation. The more regular I will be, the more I will be able to keep my audience both engaged and interested.
Projects allow us to move forward. They are so many ways to give sense to our lives and goals to achieve. Then, when we manage to achieve one of them, we immediately feel an incredible feeling of satisfaction that encourages us to keep going and pursue our efforts to go further and further.

First idea: to propose online training
What: personalised coaching - in writing first and then in self-improvement.
Why? Because I realise how much writing has been able to help me understand certain situations and to take some distance from what I was going through. Writing was there every step of the way.
Goal: I would like to prove that anyone is also able to reveal the writer in his heart. We are all able to write our own life, our own story. Every idea deserves to become a reality, and sometimes all it takes is a little help to make it happen…
Another idea: to broadcast a podcast
Goal: helping people in their own self-development journey to “grow inside” and connect to their “Inner Light”.
How: several episodes inspired by what all the things I have learned, and all the advice I have received. Each episode will focus on a specific theme that people will be able to apply in their lives through simple and guided exercises.
About my novel
Goal: to give it a chance to find an audience, both in England and in France.
How: finding an agent who will agree to help me in finding the most suitable publishing houses.
Description: my novel is a fantastic romance, set in a spiritual journey that attempts to reveal the characters’ true selves (this strength that we all have deep inside us).
“As soon as we learn how to work on ourselves, and move forward on our path, we inspire others who want to take the same path in order to live their lives in harmony with themselves…”
(Chloe Barthez)
Today, besides being a writer, I would like to help people around me to work on their self-development in order to encourage them to find (or find again) that connection with themselves that will help them to live a life that inspires them every day. A life they will be proud of. A life that will allow them to be happy every day because they will have succeeded in finding their place.
Despite this statement in France, according to which 98% of writers must find another profession, I finally realised that there are many different ways to become a professional writer. Thanks to competitions, submissions to magazines, or radio, but also through online blogs, it is possible to make yourself known as a writer. I just have to keep on writing, every day, and not be afraid to submit what I write to external critics in order to get feedback...
